Tianna Robinson, 28, has been sentenced to life in prison for the tragic killing of her 4-year-old daughter, Nahla Miller, in April 2021.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers announced the sentencing earlier this week, revealing that Robinson pleaded guilty to an aggravated murder charge. She will serve a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 30 years.
This decision comes nearly three years after former Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters initially charged Robinson with aggravated murder, among other counts. The plea deal spares Robinson from the possibility of facing the death penalty at trial.
Powers described the gruesome details of Nahla’s injuries, including strangulation and severe beatings resulting in a broken arm and brain injury consistent with shaking, in a Facebook post.
Speaking to the media, Powers expressed the profound sorrow over Nahla’s suffering, stating, “This was a horrific and unthinkable crime. My heart breaks for Nahla just imagining what she was forced to endure. Given the current state of the law in Ohio, ensuring this defendant will be locked up for the rest of her life represents the best possible outcome we could hope for.”
