Sex Cult Leader ‘NatureBoy’ Eligio Bishop Sentenced To Life For Rape And Abuse

'NatureBoy' Eligio Bishop

Eligio Bishop, known as “NatureBoy” and leader of the alleged sex cult Carbon Nation, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for his involvement in rape and abuse.

A jury found Bishop guilty on all counts, including rape, false imprisonment, and charges related to revenge porn.

His sentencing comes after a trial that provided insight into the operations of Carbon Nation and its use of social media to promote its holistic lifestyle and teachings.

During the sentencing hearing, several former cult members spoke emotionally about the impact of Bishop’s actions on their lives.

One woman testified that Bishop claimed ownership of her soul, while another described him as their former leader who now faced the consequences of his actions.

Despite being given the opportunity to address the court, Bishop showed little remorse and instead made remarks that were quickly dismissed by the judge. Judge Stacey Hydrick condemned Bishop as a “master manipulator” and a “classic narcissist” who preyed on vulnerable individuals seeking guidance and comfort.

Prosecutors pushed for the maximum sentence, highlighting Bishop’s lack of remorse throughout the trial. Judge Hydrick agreed, expressing concern over the irreparable harm caused by Bishop’s actions and emphasizing the need for justice to bring peace to the victims.

In addition to the life sentence without parole, Bishop was also sentenced to 10 years to serve consecutively. Judge Hydrick imposed strict conditions, prohibiting any contact with the victims and preventing him from profiting from his crimes through book deals or other means.

Despite claims of a setup and one-sided proceedings from Bishop’s supporters, the judge remained steadfast in her decision. She emphasized the severity of Bishop’s crimes and the necessity of holding him accountable for his actions.

Bishop’s arrest in April 2022 followed a report from a former cult member, who detailed instances of sexual abuse and manipulation. The woman, referred to as “AV,” reported to investigators that Bishop had posted videos of them having sex on social media without her consent and had subjected her to physical and emotional abuse before she managed to escape.

The sentencing marks the end of a long legal battle, but for the victims, it represents a step towards closure and justice after enduring years of manipulation and trauma at the hands of Bishop and his cult.
