Immigration processing times are speeding up, making now an ideal moment for eligible applicants to file, according to immigration attorney LaToya McBean Pompy, Esq.
In a recent update posted to Instagram, McBean Pompy noted that cases such as marriage-based green cards, petitions where a U.S. citizen child is sponsoring a parent, and even naturalization applications are being processed more quickly than in recent years.
She highlighted a recent example from her firm in which a case filed in March was approved by August — a turnaround time of just five months.
“This is a very good time to get your case filed with immigration,” McBean Pompy advised, explaining that individuals should consult an immigration lawyer if they have concerns before submitting an application.
While U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has not officially announced a broad acceleration in processing across all case types, many immigration law firms report similar trends, particularly in family-based petitions.
Applicants can monitor USCIS case processing times online and should ensure they have all required documentation in order before filing to avoid delays.
