Sean “Diddy” Combs is once again facing legal trouble, this time from his former Bad Boy Records artist, Dawn Richard.

Richard, who gained fame as a member of the girl group Danity Kane, has filed a lawsuit against the music mogul, alleging a series of abusive behaviors dating back to her time working with him.

Dawn Richard, who first collaborated with Diddy in 2004 as part of Danity Kane and later as a member of Diddy Dirty Money, claims in the lawsuit that she witnessed Diddy assault his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, in 2009. Richard alleges that Diddy threw Cassie against a wall at his Los Angeles home and subjected both women to emotional and sexual abuse.

In addition to these claims, Richard accuses Diddy of belittling and terrorizing her throughout their professional relationship. The lawsuit comes on the heels of other legal challenges the hip-hop star has recently faced.

In response to the lawsuit, Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolff, expressed the artist’s shock and disappointment. Wolff argued that Richard’s allegations are an attempt to rewrite history, pointing out that Richard continued to work with Diddy even after the dissolution of Danity Kane.

She added that Richard’s lawsuit coincides with the release of her new album and suggested that her claims are financially motivated.

“If Ms. Richard had such a negative experience, she would not have chosen to continue working with Mr. Combs for Diddy Dirty Money, nor returned for the 2020 Making the Band reboot,” Wolff stated, defending Diddy against the allegations.

The lawsuit shines a light on the tumultuous history between Richard and Diddy, raising questions about the power dynamics and alleged abuse within the entertainment industry.
