Houston attorney Tony Buzbee has dropped a civil lawsuit accusing Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
The case was dismissed with prejudice, preventing it from being refiled.
Jay-Z, who strongly denied the allegations, called the lawsuit a “money grab” and criticized the legal system for allowing baseless claims.
In a statement on ROCNation.com, he said:
“The frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations have been dismissed.”
The lawsuit alleged that a 13-year-old girl was assaulted at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000. While this case has been dismissed, Combs still faces multiple civil lawsuits from other accusers.
Buzbee, known for high-profile cases, continues to represent over 150 alleged victims of Combs. His team has not responded to requests for comment.
