A Florida attorney has been charged with aggravated stalking after allegedly harassing another lawyer through repeated unwanted visits, threatening text messages, and references to the victim’s family.

Carlos L. Santi, 43, an attorney with the Property & Casualty Law Group in Coral Gables, was arrested Thursday while carrying pizza boxes labeled with the name of the targeted attorney and the attorney’s wife, according to a report by WPLG.

The alleged victim, also a Coral Gables attorney, reported the harassment to police on February. 4, 2025. According to an arrest affidavit, Santi had repeatedly shown up uninvited at the victim’s law office, passed by his home while texting about his presence, and sent rap song lyrics containing threatening language. The report also alleges that Santi mentioned the targeted attorney’s children.

Surveillance footage reportedly captured Santi walking past the victim’s home while staring at the residence.

On Friday,, February 7, Judge Mindy S. Glazer of the Miami-Dade Circuit Court issued a stay-away order protecting the allegedly targeted lawyer and his family.

Prior Sanctions and Legal Scrutiny

Santi has also faced professional discipline. In an unrelated civil case, U.S. Magistrate Judge Nicholas P. Mizell of the Middle District of Florida sanctioned Santi for failing to comply with court orders.

In a January 7 ruling, Mizell referred Santi to the court’s grievance committee for counseling or other remedial action.

The judge also ordered him to pay $200 to the Southwest Florida Federal Court Bar Association to support efforts to improve legal practice standards.

The stalking charges against Santi highlight growing concerns over attorney misconduct and professional accountability within the legal field.
