Marsha Kearney, the mother of NFL wide receiver Rashee Rice, is facing legal scrutiny after being accused of multiple instances of theft.
Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Kearney was arrested earlier this year on charges of property theft, months before being allegedly caught on camera in a separate theft incident on September 29, 2024.
The initial charges stem from an incident on March 27, 2024, when Kearney was accused of stealing more than 40 items from a man’s home, including food, household goods, and personal items.
The total value of the stolen property was reported to be between $100 and $750. Kearney was charged with one misdemeanor count of theft, though the charges were ultimately dropped after she completed unspecified court-ordered conditions.
However, Kearney’s legal troubles appear to have resurfaced. In the most recent incident, video footage from a ring camera shows a woman, allegedly Kearney, stealing a package from an apartment complex.
The woman, seen wearing a jersey bearing her son Rashee Rice’s name, appears to check her surroundings before taking the package and leaving.
The victim claims the package contained two limited-edition vinyl records and attempted to resolve the matter with Kearney and the apartment complex management, but to no avail.
The footage has circulated widely on social media, leading to increased public interest in the case. While police are still investigating the latest incident, they have not yet confirmed Kearney’s identity as the individual seen in the video.
At this time, neither Kearney nor her son, Rashee Rice, who recently suffered a potential season-ending injury, have commented on the allegations.
The case remains under investigation, with legal experts noting that Kearney could face new charges depending on the outcome of the inquiry.
