Michael Maurice Mack

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of Michael Maurice Mack, who is wanted in connection with a heinous crime involving the forced participation of his estranged wife in a murder.

The incident reportedly took place on August 14, 2024, in Katy, Texas.

According to the press release, authorities were initially dispatched to a residence in Katy following a report of a possible death. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of foul play but did not find a body at the scene. Investigators soon determined that the victim’s body had been removed and possibly discarded elsewhere.

Further investigation led officers to West Vidor, where they located the body of 53-year-old Kelvin Hinton. Mack, who remains at large, is accused of breaking into his estranged wife’s home while armed with multiple firearms and wearing tactical gear.

The affidavit reveals that Mack allegedly shot Hinton, then coerced his estranged wife into shooting Hinton’s body, under threats of violence. He subsequently forced her to accompany him as they transported the corpse to a different location.

Mack and his estranged wife, who had been separated for the past 18 months, were married in 2019. The estranged wife reportedly informed investigators that Mack had been stalking her and that she had begun a relationship with Hinton. According to the affidavit, Mack violently assaulted his estranged wife with a rifle before shooting Hinton, who attempted to intervene.

The affidavit details a harrowing account of the events, including Mack threatening his wife at gunpoint and demanding she shoot Hinton.

Afterward, Mack allegedly threatened her life if she did not help him dispose of the body. He reportedly wrapped Hinton’s remains in bedsheets, placed them in the trunk of his wife’s car, and drove to Vidor, where the body was discarded. Mack then allowed his estranged wife to leave, threatening her with death if she did not comply with his demands.
