Homeland Security special agent Gerard Gannon took the stand this week in a highly scrutinized federal case involving Sean “Diddy” Combs, providing detailed testimony about the provocative and potentially incriminating items discovered during the March 2024 raid of Combs’ luxurious Star Island residence in Miami, Florida.
Gannon, the tenth witness to testify, walked jurors through a gallery of evidence photos that painted a sensational and chaotic picture of the music mogul’s private life. Among the items presented: a black Gucci bag filled with a colorful mix of pills and powders that later tested positive for cocaine, ketamine, methamphetamine, and MDMA.
The jurors were shown this bag in person as it was unsealed in court, revealing a wide array of blue, pink, white, yellow, orange, and black pills, alongside white powder, a black plastic straw, and two bottles of eye drops — both of which tested positive for MDMA and ketamine.
Jurors also viewed photos of 18 pairs of high heels, including red platform shoes, seized from the master bedroom closet. The courtroom was shown six of those pairs. Gannon also described how agents retrieved three cellphones concealed inside a pair of Balenciaga boots, further raising questions about the nature of items stored in the rapper’s personal spaces.
The defense, led by attorney Tenny Garagos, pushed back on the government’s narrative during cross-examination. She questioned the thoroughness and fairness of the investigation, pointing to the lack of pre-search documentation and suggesting the scene may have been altered.
For instance, when investigators displayed AR-15 receivers lying on a blanket, Garagos argued they were only photographed after being unwrapped and arranged, rather than documenting their original condition.
Garagos also inquired whether Gannon was aware of a broader investigation launched in November 2023 by the Southern District of New York. Gannon did not confirm this directly, only stating that he received briefing on the warrant 11 days prior to its execution.
This testimony is part of an expanding federal investigation that has placed Combs under intense scrutiny. Although no formal charges have been filed yet, multiple civil lawsuits and ongoing probes have cast a long shadow over the hip-hop mogul’s empire.
The case has stirred widespread attention, not only because of Combs’ celebrity status but also due to the nature of the evidence and allegations involved — including illicit drug possession, possible weapons violations, and salacious materials that suggest a complex and possibly incriminating lifestyle.
Combs has consistently denied all allegations through his legal team.
The court is expected to hear from additional witnesses and experts. The revelations from this week’s testimony underscore how much is at stake in a case that blends celebrity, power, and law enforcement at the highest level.
