A Nebraska woman is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly holding a 60-year-old man captive and stabbing him in the forehead with a soldering iron, authorities say.
Lisa Beverly, 49, was arrested on February 14 by Lincoln Police Department officers after multiple 911 calls reported a man screaming for help from an apartment in Lincoln, Nebraska.
According to court documents obtained by KLKN, dispatchers first received a call around 7 a.m. reporting a disturbance in an apartment complex. The caller stated they heard a male voice yelling “Help me!” and banging on a wall.
When officers arrived, they could hear the man screaming, “Help!” and “Let me out!” urging them to knock the door down.
Upon entering the apartment, police found the victim with multiple head wounds, while the bedroom was described as being in “complete disarray.”
Allegations of Assault
According to the victim, the incident began as an argument after Beverly accused him of dating her friend. The dispute escalated when she allegedly stabbed him in the forehead with a soldering iron and struck him with a coffee pot and a laptop.
Police located the soldering iron, coffee pot, and a damaged, bloodied laptop at the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for four puncture wounds.
Felony Charges and Court Proceedings
Beverly was arrested at the scene and booked into the Lancaster County Jail. She is facing charges of:
- Second-degree assault
- Use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony
- False imprisonment
She remains in custody on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 13.
This case highlights the serious nature of domestic disputes escalating into violent assaults, and Beverly now faces potentially severe legal consequences if convicted.
