Rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is suing New York City jeweler TraxNYC for $5 million, accusing the jeweler of trademark infringement and violating his right of publicity.

The lawsuit stems from Trax’s alleged use of 50 Cent’s likeness to promote its jewelry without permission, leading consumers to believe the rapper is affiliated with the brand.

According to legal filings, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, claims that the jeweler used his image and name in multiple TikTok videos to market products, despite Jackson having no association with TraxNYC.

The lawsuit, first reported by TMZ, asserts that Jackson has never purchased jewelry from the company nor authorized the use of his name or likeness for commercial purposes.

The dispute began when 50 Cent reached out to TraxNYC, warning the jeweler that using his image was a “bad idea” and advising him to stop the misleading marketing. Instead of complying, Trax responded dismissively and continued posting videos featuring 50 Cent.

Now, Jackson is seeking legal action, demanding that the court prevent TraxNYC from using his image and compensate him for damages.

His attorney stated:

“Mr. Jackson takes the unauthorized use of his name and likeness for commercial purposes seriously.”

This lawsuit highlights the ongoing legal battles over the right of publicity, where public figures protect their name and likeness from unauthorized commercial use.
