Attorney Zulu Ali, renowned for his leadership at the Law Offices of Zulu Ali & Associates, LLP, the largest Black-owned law firm in California’s Inland Empire, has renamed his non-profit youth mentor program in loving memory of his mother, Linda Reese Harvey.
The program, now known as the Linda Reese Harvey Stop & Frisk Youth Leadership Academy (stopfriskacademy.com), pays tribute to Linda Harvey, who passed away on May 16, 2024, at the age of 77.
Reflecting on his mother’s profound influence in a press release, Attorney Ali shared:
“As a Black male raised by a single Black mother, she taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance and achievement. Her dedication, working two jobs to support me, shaped my path as a husband, father, U.S. Marine, police officer, and now as an advocate and attorney.”
He recounted how her teachings of hard work, faith, and humility continue to guide his professional and personal endeavors.
With a rich background as a former police officer, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and scholar in law and administration, Attorney Ali is deeply committed to justice and community service.
His law firm specializes in criminal defense, immigration, and civil rights litigation, advocating for marginalized communities in state and federal courts.
Beyond legal practice, he is involved internationally, serving on the African Court of Justice and Human Rights and the International Criminal Court.
In addition to leading the Linda Reese Harvey Stop & Frisk Youth Leadership Academy, which mentors at-risk youth on handling police encounters, Attorney Ali directs the Southern California Veterans Legal Clinic, providing vital legal services to military veterans.
Recognized as one of the Top 100 Lawyers by several prestigious organizations, he has received numerous accolades, including the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award and recognition from the United Nations for his contributions to law and justice.
Attorney Ali’s commitment extends to media and advocacy through his production company, 10 Nubian Queens & 5 Kings Media, focusing on social justice content.
He hosts the radio talk show and podcast “Justice Watch with Attorney Zulu Ali,” broadcasted from NBC Radio studio in Redlands, California, and is a member of the National Black Radio Hall of Fame.
