An aspiring police officer was put behind bars on May, 8, after admitting that he sexually assaulted a victim during an interview for the job.
Reports say 26-yearold Stephen Bodley openly admitted to the offence during a job interview for the Apopka Police Department.
According to the Tampa Bay Tribune, Bodley was interviewing with the department in hopes of becoming a police officer.
But it appears the department only allowed him to interview so they could grill him about his creepy application.
On the application he admitted to “playing sexµal games” with his victim.
He doubled down on the confession during his in-person interview and said:
“The victim probably didn’t know what was going on.”
A formal investigation was opened and detectives were able to reach the victim’s mother.
The victim confirmed that Bodley abused her for several years, from when Bodley was 14 up until he turned 19-years-old.
Bodley was arrested and found guilty of sexµally battering a child under 12, after a judge allowed the comments he made during an interview to be used in court.
After a three-day trial, a jury on May 8 found Bodley guilty of sexual battery of a child younger than 12 by a person younger than 18.
He testified during the trial but denied sexually abusing the victim, despite previously admitting to committing the crime on three separate occasions, the release said.
According to the release, Bodley is set to be sentenced on June 24.
