Actor Jonathan Majors avoided jail time on Monday, April 8, after being sentenced to probation for assaulting his ex-girlfriend in a highly publicized case that impacted his career trajectory.
The 34-year-old star of “Creed III” faced potential incarceration following a misdemeanor assault conviction by a Manhattan jury in December.
Judge Michael Gaffey sentenced Majors to probation and mandated completion of a 52-week in-person batterer’s intervention program, along with continuing mental health therapy.
Marvel Studios promptly severed ties with Majors after the guilty verdict, rescinding his role as Kang the Conqueror, a key antagonist slated for future appearances across the Marvel cinematic universe.
The charges stemmed from a March altercation where Majors’ former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, accused him of assaulting her in a chauffeured car.
