If you’re concerned about paying for law school, don’t worry! There are many scholarships available to help alleviate the cost of law school. It is important to apply to many as you can to increase your chances of being awarded a scholarship. Here at Barrier Breakers, we want to help law school students find financial resources and have compiled a list of scholarships to apply for in the month of October.
- P.J.C. Lindfors Legal Studies Fund: Finlandia Foundation National is proud to offer scholarship awards ranging from $1,000-$3,000. This scholarship is in honor of Pertti Lindfors who cherished education and hopes to offer Finnish students to pursue their legal education. The applicant must be enrolled or accepted to a Finnish university. Application is due October 1.
- GCPC First Generation Law Student Scholarship: Seeking to support and reward First Generation law students, the General Council, P.C. is offering a $1,500 scholarship to two winners. Only the first 50 applications will be accepted so get your application submitted! Requirements include being a 2nd year law student, first in your family to attend law school, submitting an essay and more. Applications are accepted between October 1st – 31st.
- Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Law School Diversity Scholarship: Buckfire Law is committed to help underrepresented ethnic and racial minority students to achieve their academic dreams. One student will be awarded a $2000 scholarship after submitting an essay on your involvement in promoting ethnic diversity in your community. Must submit by October 1.
- Simeone & Miller Good Lawyers/Good People Scholarship: To help students with similar aspirations and goals of making the world a better and safer place, Simeone & Miller LLP is offering a $1,000 scholarship. Requirements include a 800-1000 word written statement or a 3-5 minute video presentation of your past experience and what motivates you.Applicants must submit by October 31.
- Diversity Scholarship Foundation: The Diversity Scholarship Foundation is awarding students who have completed two semesters of law school coursework to support them in their education in the law field. Applicants must submit an essay of nor more than 500 words and 2 letters of recommendation by October 31.
- The Maineri Law Firm Higher Education Scholarship: This scholarship is providing a $1000 scholarship to an undergraduate student who studies not only law but also other varieties of fields! To submit, a 500 word essay answering a prompt of what type of degree do you plan to pursue and how will you reflect it in your future, is required. Deadline is October 7.
- 2024 DP Law Encouraging Diversity Scholarship: At The Law Offices of Doroshow, Pasquale, Krawitz & Bhaya, they hope to promote diversity in the legal field and to do this, they are offering a $1,000 scholarship to a minority law student. Applicant must submit an essay, and be in good overall academic standing of 3.0 GPA or higher. Submissions due October 31.
