Linda Mathis, wife of renowned TV judge Greg Mathis, has officially filed for divorce after nearly four decades of marriage.
The couple, who separated on July 17, cited irreconcilable differences as the basis for their split.
Having married in June 1985, shortly after both graduated from Eastern Michigan University, Linda and Greg Mathis raised four children together: Jade, Camara Mathis Webb, Greg Mathis Jr., and Amir Mathis. As all of their children are now adults, the divorce proceedings will not involve child support or custody issues.
In her filing, Linda Mathis is seeking spousal support and has requested that the court deny any spousal support to Greg Mathis. Details regarding the existence of a prenuptial agreement remain unclear.
Greg Mathis, who gained national recognition through his long-running TV court show, “Judge Mathis,” has maintained a public image of a strong family life.
However, the recent airing of the family’s reality show, “Mathis Family Matters,” which debuted two years ago, has led to speculation about the impact of public scrutiny on their marriage.
