Court documents reveal that 50 Cent, the renowned rapper and entrepreneur, has enlisted prominent attorney Benjamin Crump in his legal battle against beverage giant Beam Suntory.
The lawsuit, according to AllHipHop, was filed by 50 Cent’s companies including Sire Spirits and G-Unit Records and accuses Beam Suntory of involvement in an alleged embezzlement scheme costing millions.
The feud escalated in March this year when 50 Cent accused Beam Suntory of overcharging Sire Spirits for liquor and engaging in kickbacks, purportedly resulting in losses exceeding $6 million.
This prompted 50 Cent to file a complaint with the New York State Supreme Court, seeking redress for damages and alleging complicity from Beam Suntory’s Chief Commercial Officer, Julious Grant.
Craig W#####, attorney for Sire Spirits, described Beam Suntory’s actions as “extraordinarily troubling,” implicating the brand in facilitating fraudulent activities.
Previously, Mitchell Green, a former director at Sire Spirits, pleaded guilty to wire fraud related to the scheme, underscoring 50 Cent’s determination to hold Beam Suntory accountable.
In response, 50 Cent has taken to social media to publicize his grievances and legal actions, warning Beam Suntory that he intends to recover losses incurred.
He posted documents alleging Beam Suntory’s involvement in the scheme and hinted at potential future projects inspired by the legal battle.
50 Cent’s collaboration with Ben Crump signals a formidable legal strategy aimed at securing justice and restitution in this high-profile dispute.
