Rick Ross, the renowned hip-hop mogul, is taking steps to formalize his Promise Land Zoo by applying for a zoo license.
In response to skepticism from a colleague regarding his plans to add two elephants and two giraffes to his expanding zoo, Ross took to social media to assert his vision.
He said there is a difference in mindset between himself and doubters, affirming his determination to nurture and care for the animals.
Ross unveiled his application for a zoo license, in what his supporters believe signals his commitment to establishing the animal sanctuary on his sprawling 235-acre estate in Fayetteville, Georgia.
He expressed his intention to purchase two giraffes, adding to his existing collection of wildlife, which includes two Senegalese lions, four horses, a bull, and two buffalo.
The decision to expand his at-home zoo may also have financial benefits for Ross, as Georgia tax laws offer homeowners an agriculture tax exemption for owning farm animals.
The state’s Agriculture Tax Exemption rule encompasses the management of livestock and the production of feed, potentially qualifying Ross’ buffalo as livestock and making him eligible for the exemption.
As Ross continues to develop his Promise Land Animal Park, his pursuit of a zoo license underscores his dedication to the project and his vision of creating a thriving sanctuary for wildlife on his estate.
