A Utah man is facing multiple charges after his pit bulls brutally attacked his mother in their backyard, resulting in her death.
Jeremy Miller, 38, has been charged with seven counts of attack by animal in connection with the tragic incident that took the life of 63-year-old Sandra Miller.
The incident occurred on October 31 in Taylorsville, Utah, when police responded to a call from Sandra reporting that she had been attacked and bitten by several dogs.
Upon arrival, officers found a chaotic scene in the backyard of the home, with multiple pit bulls running around in a frenzy, with blood on and around their mouths.
According to reports, Sandra suffered grave injuries to her face and hands, rendering her unable to move. Her leg had been severely bitten, with no flesh remaining and only the bone visible.
Responding medics faced challenges due to the aggressive nature of the dogs, requiring multiple police officers and animal control officers to contain them.
Jeremy Miller, who lived with Sandra, expressed distress over the situation upon arriving at the scene. Subsequently, he surrendered the dogs to the city, and they were euthanized.
Sandra passed away a week later from the injuries sustained during the attack.
Jeremy Miller now faces charges related to the attack by the animals he owned, which carry a 6-year prison sentence.
It remains unclear whether he has entered pleas or retained legal representation to address the charges against him.
