Third Man Hauled Before Court For Murder In Kansas City Chiefs Rally Shooting

A third individual has been indicted for murder in connection with the tragic mass shooting following a Kansas City Chiefs championship rally last month, which resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to over two dozen individuals, prosecutors disclosed on Thursday.

Terry J. Young, aged 20, faces charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action, as stated in a news release from Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker’s office.

CNN has been unable to ascertain legal representation for Young, who is presently held on a $1 million cash bond according to court records.

The fatal shooting and injuries occurred when Young, along with two other individuals, purportedly responded to a verbal altercation by discharging firearms, the prosecutor’s office revealed.

According to prosecutors, Young and two companions approached a person from another group, leading to a verbal exchange. Subsequently, firearms were brandished, with Young reportedly advancing towards the individual while wielding a firearm and allegedly firing multiple shots, as observed in surveillance footage from Union Station, the site of the shooting.

Investigators scrutinized Young’s social media presence and purportedly found him sporting the same distinctive backpack seen in the surveillance footage.

“Cell phone data analysis also indicated the presence of Young’s device in the vicinity of the shooting at the time it occurred,” the prosecutor’s office added.

Two other men were previously charged with murder and additional felonies in connection with the incident last month.

“All individuals identified as discharging firearms during the verbal altercation have been apprehended,” Baker remarked in a statement on Thursday.

Lyndell Mays of Raytown and Dominic M. Miller of Kansas City were both charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action in February. They are detained on a $1 million bond. Legal representation for Mays has been contacted, but an attorney for Miller has not been identified by CNN.

Moreover, three juveniles are facing charges in Family Court, prosecutors stated, emphasizing that additional charges are anticipated as the investigation unfolds.
